As a lot of the prior blog posts have pointed out, we want people to tell their story.  One of the ways I tell my story is through song; no, not me singing, but through finding inspiration in other's lyrics.  In these hectic weeks of our events, I find that the following songs give me inspiration to continue and push on no mater how tired / frustrated / exhausted I am.  Please share your B4

In our blog post last week we rolled out our social media standards, and tomorrow we will be putting them to good use.  Tomorrow will be the 6th Buzzing for Change event at GW and we'll be bringing it all to you, no matter where you are!  We will be posting on Twitter, Facebook and Flickr throughout the event.  If you are there, make sure to post about your experience as it happens!

As Cheryl (B4C Prez at GW) has informed us via her G-chat away message, their event (our first of the season) is in 14 days.  It is exciting seeing thngs like this and other Facebook, Twitter and other poss asking people to sponsor them. Our website this year gives people the ability to tell their stories, which, collectively, make us the story that is Buzzing for Change.  

Last year I wrote an entry about the excitement that spring brings with it.  While the first day of spring, along with it Big Bird's Birthday, free Rita's and warm weather (in theory) has come and gone, I think its an important thing to highlight.  With spring comes optimism and hope - things we want to inspire in our participants and the children who benefit from our programs. 

As we announced yesterday via Twitter, we have signed our first national corporate sponsor!  Hair Cuttery will be providing stylists to preform cutting and shaving at our events.  While they have been helping out with our events at GW for the past 5 years and w

Today we are disclosing that the programs at Rutgers and Duke will not be running events this year. The students at both these campuses had an unwavering commitment to Buzzing for Change and the ideals we all believe in. Unfortunately there were some differences between us and the administrations we were working with that could not be worked out in our current structure. The students did an excellent job and we wish them all the best.  We hope we can find ways to work with them in the future.

The Buzzing for Change Foundation has spent considerable time over the past few weeks developing a mission statement.  It was adopted by the board with unanimous support.  It reads:

If I took Organic Chem at some point that might mean something other than what we are writing about.  One of the issues that has plagued us as a Foundation as we have tried to grow is that all of the applications we have received for programs have been from close connection to a Foundation Team Member or a charity we already serve.  Since all of us are from the east coast and half of us went to GWU, our collective connections are small.  We have not been able to grow viraly.
